One Layer Anniversary Card

Yesterday I celebrated my third wedding anniversary with my super-duper awesome husband.  It's been an amazing 3 years and I'm so happy to have him!  With that in mind I wanted to make a masculine anniversary card:

The design of this card happened by accident.  I cut the love and the heart using my Cameo and files from the Silhouette Online Store, and when I went to add them to my card I thought about using them as a mask instead of putting the cuts on the card.  I sponged over the images and voila!
Super simple and easy!

For the inside of the card I used the opposite idea.  I cut the words into a scrap piece of paper and sponged inside the negative image to get the sentiment.  Mainly because it was late and I didn't feel like messing with adhering a bunch of letters.  The end product is basically an accident but I like it!

I'm entering this card into this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge where Simon Says...use an arrow.  And the 7 or Less Challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by!

a post-valentine's day card

Evenin' crafty ladies!  A quick post to share the card I made for my amazing husband on Valentine's Day.  Of course I had to wait until after I gave it to him to post it up for "the world" to see.  I used a super cute cut file from the Silhouette store that I loved instantly.

I'm playing this week at CASology.  The theme is red, perfect for this week.

And at CAS-ual Fridays where the challenge this week is black and white plus a color of your choice.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hey, Girlfriend! ...a card

Hey, girlfriend(s)! I finally got a chance to get crafty this week and here's a card for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch! challenge:

I embossed the background image with clear powder on white cardstock, and I masked the sentiment to make the orange swirly lines across the bottom.  The dress image is stamped on patterned paper and hand cut.

I'm not much of a girly-girl so I wasn't sure I would like these stamps but I was pleasantly surprised, and I'm happy with the results. (I love it when that happens!)  Here's the sketch for this week:

The CASology cue card for this week is "Fairy Tale".  I've been dying to get in on the action over there, but they really have me struggling to think outside the box.  But...if it were easy it wouldn't be called a challenge, right? So...what fairy tale is complete without a fancy dress? The perfect excuse to use my girlie-girl stamps I was having doubts about.

This card also qualifies for the 7 or Less challenge. My total items used is...7! It adds up fast! ("I Like Your Style" stamp set, black ink, orange ink, white card stock, kraft card stock, patterned paper, clear embossing powder.)

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

muse challenge #3

Here's a card I made for a friend who has lost a loved one and is need of a little pick-me-up.  I had some help with inspiration from this week's muse card and from this card by one of my favorite muses Kristina Werner.  I just love her cards.  The "sympathy" here is a silhouette cut file from her blog, and can be found at the link above.  Isn't that an amazing cut?  I was super impressed with the detail it made on some heavy heavy white cardstock.  Go Cameo go!

There's another gorgeous card at the muse challenge this week which inspired me to use the yellow flowers and some rectangles.  I also incorporated a white on white element like the one in the muse card here:

Thanks for stopping by, have a lovely day!

Valentine Wreath

Hello crafty friends!  I'm sharing a Valentine project I made with some help from my little girl, and a bit of inspiration from all the great heart themed goodies going around.  One of which was the photo for this week's Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration challenge.

This was very simple.  I cut the hearts with my Cameo and hot glued them to a wire wreath frame, and added some ribbon for the hanger. Easy!

Check out the great inspiration photo for this week's HSS inspiration challenge:

Thanks for looking, have a great day!
