Feel Better, Friend

Hey friends!  I have a card to share for a couple of challenges.

Over at the Muse Card Club, I was inspired by the colors and the diagonal panel in Marion's awesome muse card below:

Not only did I get to use my new distress glitter for this card but I'm new to the challenge Addicted to CAS, it's my first time joining in over there :)

I have one Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit to give away and it's filled with lots of great goodies.  All you need to do is be a follower of my blog and leave a comment anywhere on my blog before Sunday February 2 at Noon (PST).   I will choose a random winner for this awesome prize! Spread the word :)  Good Luck!

Thanks for stopping by, keep it crafty!

Let's Play!

Hey friends!  I've been dying to use some more of my goodies that I got for Christmas and haven't cracked open yet.  This stamp set from Paper Smooches is one of them, and this patterned paper is some that I have been hoarding for an embarassingly long time.  Sometimes it feels so good to just dive in and start cutting it!  Here's what I came up with:

This woodgrain is the backside of the yellow pattern I haven't been able to part with and I like how it looks like they might be coming from their separate yards to hang out and play :).  It's been way too long since I've played at Retro Sketches and I thought I'd join in for the first time over at Fusion.  It was their inspiration photo that made me finally dig into my yellow and gray hoarder pile.  And of course the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge where this week Anything Goes.

Update: a bit of exciting news... I'm having my first giveaway.  The Simon Says Stamp February Card Kit!  Become a follower and check back Monday for all the details!

Merry Monday #92 - Design Team!

Woot woot!  Hey friends, I'm here with exciting news... Today I get to join the awesome team at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge!  I'm so so excited and I feel honored to be part of such an awesome group of talented ladies.

I can't wait to create with them each week.  On that note, here's my card:

The challenge is to use Red, Kraft, Vanilla and Chocolate with Ribbon.  I just love this combo for holiday cards. The music patterned paper I used is from a book of real sheet music that belonged to my grandfather when he was young and was learning to play trumpet.  I found this among my dad's things after he passed away, so it's kind of bittersweet to see these things, but I thought putting into my cards (which I love) would be a great way to use them.  It has such a nice vintage look to it, it reminded me of the books in the inspiration photo{thanks Grandpa!}.

Check out the blog to see a whole parade of gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the team.  I can't wait to check out your festive creations in the gallery...see you there!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a Merry Monday!

A Valentine... Challenges with Bree {again!}

Hey friends!  I'm happy to announce the return of a blogging tradition... Challenges with Bree! One of my bestest crafty friends is Breelin over at Craft-somnia Momma.  She is super talented, sweet as pie and just all-around awesome.  (Did I mention she was a finalist for the Stampin' Up Artisan Award last year?)  Check out her blog, it's full of great stuff!  We haven't done it in a long time but we used to take turns choosing a group of challenges to tackle "together" and each put our own twist on the same group of ideas.

This week I chose the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!, the inspiration photo from Curtain Call and the Emboss It theme at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog.  I can't wait to see what Bree comes up with!  Here's my card:

I decided it was about time I made my first shaker card, and I filled the innards with sequins and glitter.

Thanks so much for stopping by, keep it crafty!
