Snips & Snails 12x12 Layout

This layout is part going to be part of a scrapbook I'm making for a friend's baby shower.  She's having a boy and I'm putting together a book that's all ready to add any pictures she wants.  I haven't really gotten started yet and I realized this baby shower is coming up in 2 weeks, so the pressure is on!  I find it hard to get started when I'm making a layout without knowing what pictures will be used, the pics are such a major part of getting inspiration for what kind of page I want to make...so I had to look for inspiration elsewhere.

I came across this challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments, the idea is to use blue glass as your inspiration so I started thinking of how I could incorporate this into my book.  Anyone else ever put bugs in jars when they were little? Seems like a little boy thing to do :)

As hard as it is to start these layouts without pics, I think it may be even more difficult to decide when it's done.  I have a hard time ever deciding it's "Finished" because it always seems bare with no cute little baby pictures in it.  Oh well, those are not mine to choose this time :)

I used my Cameo to cut the title, jars and the snail.  I think he's pretty cute.  I added some wooden buttons from my stash, I wish I knew who made them because I would love to get more. Let's just hope the Mommy-to-be likes it!  Thanks for looking!

Halloween Frame & Some of My Favorite People

I decided to share a quickie Halloween decoration I threw together yesterday.  I found a black frame that I had never put any photos in and decided to fill it with some spooky images for Halloween.

With the exception of the bird in a cage (which was a piece of patterned paper) I cut all the images with my Cameo and it came together pretty easily. It was hard to get a good photo, so you can't really see the details but that spider has some super cute googly eyes too.

I also thought I would take this opportunity to shamelessly plug the cuteness of some of my favorite people by sharing some photos.  Thanks for looking!

Welcome Baby Card

Here's another card for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge.

This weeks theme is to make a card inspired by your own blog header.  Well....since my blog is still brand spankin' new and I haven't done much in the header department, I decided to take the colors and work from there.  I thought they would make a great gender neutral baby card.

This also gave me an excuse to put my Silhouette Cameo to use, which is good since I still haven't gotten properly acquainted with it yet.  So far: Love it! Although I have a long way to go as far as becoming good at using the software.  (One can never have too many crafting goals, right?)

Thanks for looking!

A Retro-ish card for the September Card Exchange

Here's a card I created for a monthly card exchange I participate in with some local crafty ladies.  I started out with the idea that I would try for something with lots of turquoise in honor of my Aunt Jeanie's birthday.  She's obsessed with turquoise!

This one didn't exactly come together easily and I'm still not feeling it.  Sometimes you just don't have the mojo, but alas, we must press (or stamp) on!  I was even less happy when I realized I had just signed myself up to make 12 cards with 15 squares each that all need to be corner-punched twice. (I did the math and it was over 400 times, oops!) But all is well that ends well and it turned out with a kind of retro or vintage feel that I think is fun.

Also, I want to say congratulations to my friend Breelin at Craft-somnia Momma who has been recognized AGAIN for her awesome creations over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Go Breelin!  You are an inspiration!

Thanks for looking :)
