Inspired by the Ordinary

Hey crafty friends!  Lately I've found myself seeing card ideas everywhere, it just goes to show that you can find inspiration all around.  This card is based on one of my little girl's adorable t-shirts.  It was so dang cute, I just had to CASE it.

I used my Cameo to cut the cloud, raindrops and hearts.  Here's my favorite little muse wearing her shirt:

Ansley and her pal Pony-Marony

I love the combination of navy blue, aqua and dark pink, and of course the super cute cloud.

Linking up at:
CAS-ual Fridays (use embossing),

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge (use ink).  Done, done and done!

It's Retro Sketches Time!

Happy weekend crafty friends!  It's Saturday and that means it's time for another awesome sketch over at Retro Sketches. The sketch this week is based on one of Kasia's cards and you can find it here.  Here's my take:

I decided to mimic the look of a dry embossed background by making vertical score lines all the way across.  I knew I wanted an embossed background, but I wasn't feelin' it with any of my folders.  I like the look of the score lines, though.  Be sure and check out the other gorgeous DT creations for this sketch, and play along too!  I can't wait to see what everyone creates, I'm always so impressed by the entries!

Also entering this card at CAS-ology and CASual Fridays.

Paper Smooches Thanks Card

Hello!  I'm back with a card for this week's Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge where the current challenge is to use stripes.  This one gave me an excuse to go digging through my very neglected patterned papers, which I love (and hoard) but don't use nearly often enough.  Here's what I came up with:

I love all these patterns, but so many of my 6x6 sheets are loose now that I have no idea what collections they are from.  The butterflies are cut with the Cameo.

Here's the inspiration photo:

I'm also linking up at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where this week's theme is to keep it Clean and Simple.  I just can't stay away from that place, whether I'm shopping, blog-stalking or playing along with their challenges!

Thanks for looking, keep it crafty!

Supplies:
Stamp set: Sentiment Sampler (Paper Smooches)
Ink: Primrose Petals (SU)
Cardstock: Sahara Sand (SU)

Love You...

Hello crafty friends! I love the "bold & cheery" colors over at Dynamic Duos and I was inspired to dust off my Cameo and make this card.

I used some cut files that are intended to be journaling cards but they work pretty well on here, too.  I added a brad and some score lines and there you have it!

Also linking up over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Warm Thoughts Card

Hello!  I'm back tonight with another quick post for the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.   Here's the card:

My very best friend came over to spend the night (just like when we were in high school) and we spent some time doing crafty things.  She's a fellow paper addict like me, which is awesome!  She showed me a technique I've never seen before using alcohol inks on photo paper to make gorgeous glossy, swirly backgrounds.  We made the red piece on the scalloped circle and the sentiment banner, although the picture doesn't really show how pretty it turned out.

The blue background piece is one I've had sitting around a few days ever since I saw the inspiration photo at the challenge.  I knew I wanted to use glossy accents to make drops that looked like dew or snowflakes for a Christmas card.  I finally got around to turning it into something.  Here's the inspiration photo:

Retro Sketches #88 and Happy News

Hey there, is it really November already?  Time is flying!  It's also Saturday and that means it's time for another challenge over at Retro Sketches.  And my happy news is that Arielle asked me to stay on for another month as a guest DT member, woot woot!  So of course I said "Heck Yeah!"

This week's sketch is based on this card by Arielle.  I just had to use my brand new (new to me at least) Great Chemistry Paper Smooches stamp set with a lab theme, since I work in a lab I just had to have this one, love it!

Isn't that wacky scientist cute?  I used some glossy accents on his glasses and the beaker.

I can't wait to see what everyone posts in the gallery!  Thanks for looking, keep it crafty!
