So... I've had a realization of sorts about my cardmaking style. I guess I'm just a real simple (boring?) cardmaker at heart. Starting this blog has really challenged me to push myself and I find that the more elements to a challenge the more difficult time I have. 5 colors? gah! 4 colors? *sweat sweat* OK I'll give it a try... I have to remind myself that nothing is fun if it's always EASY. So here's my card for
Colour Q. This site has amazing color palettes every week and every week I run away scared! This time I managed something:
The Rich Razzleberry hearts and sentiment here look almost black, but alas, they aren't...promise! Here's the color palette:
I found a new challenge site, called Pinspired Challenges. Inspired by Pinterest, because who isn't?
Because of the quilt in the inspiration photo, I knew I wanted to incorporate a stitched element. So I hung my little banners from some stitched lines. This card didn't start as a one-layer card, so below is my first attempt. I couldn't really decide which was better, but since I rarely do a one-layer card I decided to feature that one.
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Primrose Petals, Rich Razzleberry (Stampin' Up!), Stazon
Stamp set: Card Exchanging Friends (Simon Says Stamp)
Cardstock: Marshmallow (Bazzill), Crumb Cake (Stampin' Up!)
